When I left teaching 12 years ago, I started as an assistant to the VP of Sales & Marketing. From there I was promoted to → Sales Manager → Sales and Marketing Manager. At this stage I began to have interactions with the leadership team. The company then asked me to create their customer care department from scratch as → Director of Customer Care with a seat at the leadership table. I went on to become → Vice President of Customer Care, more than doubling my compensation within about 3 years.
I work with individuals and/or groups developing their leadership skills:
I coach others to perform at the top and be noticed. With a heavy focus on communication and leadership skills, I can help you navigate your way to the top, too.
I work with individuals focusing on career development and job searching, those looking for their growth in a new company. I have extensive experience as a hiring manager; I've worked as an agency recruiter and in-house recruiter; I've been a candidate in this crazy thing called jobseeking, pivoting careers twice. Those experiences give me insight to the big picture of the process that others may not have.
I’m a passionate executive with a wide range of industry experience. I’m a leader within startups going through massive growth and a change agent within well-established organizations; I get things done.
My background as a C-level executive, a corporate trainer and executive coach, and as a leader of various departments gives me a broad perspective.
I believe in the power of continuous improvement to everything, but not everything at once. I create red-carpet, raving fan, WOW experiences.
Because I have been fortunate enough to have had a diverse group of mentors throughout my career, I’m dedicated to paying that forward by pouring into others through leading, coaching, and mentoring.
Ultimately, I am a culture champion at heart. I understand how crucial it is to create and cultivate a safe space for people at work, and to lead by example. As they say, when the team is happy, the clients are happy.
The ideal team is one that feels comfortable to share ideas and grow together. They celebrate wins and learn from each other’s losses. When you develop employees who are coachable, you’ll find those who proudly take ownership of their job as well as accountability for their mistakes. This is where the real treasures are.
When not working, I spend as much time as I can traveling with my husband and kids or with my close-knit group of friends. I also love reading, both fiction and development books. Spending time outdoors is a top priority when the weather is right, which in Oklahoma is not as often as I’d like.
